Today's Homeless Connect Day in Sylmar had a big turnout. Not only was the gymnasium at El Cariso Park filled with service providers, but the room was packed with clients.

Making It Happen provided snacks, water, juice, t-shirts, socks, hygiene items, and toiletries to more than 75 individuals. At one point, we were so swamped with guests we ran out of Medical Missions Clinic flyers. (*must remember to bring more next time)

Kudos to the organizers, Benita Trujillo at LA County Board of Supervisors, and LA Family Housing, for putting on such a successful event. We're proud to be partnering with such compassionate agencies and service providers.

Melanie Pozez, founder of Bark Avenue Foundation in Studio City, drops off a trunk-load of pet food to Making It Happen. Making It Happen and our pet-partner, CHAAP, can now distribute dog and cat food to our neighbors during outreach events like the upcoming Homeless Connect Day in Sylmar. Thanks go out to Melanie and her caring staff at BAF for partnering with us to provide for local pets and their people.

Ballotpedia does a good job of analyzing Measure H, a county sales tax measure to fund homeless services and prevention. We're posting this for informational purposes only. Remember to vote on March 7th.
